Kené Night — Pullover Hoodie

In low light, this pattern does not reveal itself at once. First you catch a few pale turns. Then the eye connects one line to another, and the hoodie opens into a network of paths. In Shipibo-Konibo tradition, similar luminous and labyrinthine designs may arrive through dreams and visions associated with ayahuasca or the plant piripiri.

Kené gives those experiences a form. It carries them onto cloth, ceramics and the body; in healing practice, its visual rhythm meets medicine songs. Image and song can echo one another in movement and structure, but a pattern is not simply an encoded melody. It is also personal invention and a marker of Shipibo-Konibo beauty, quality and identity.

Kené Night is a contemporary authorial interpretation, not a traditional Shipibo-Konibo artwork. Across the dark hoodie, it behaves like the afterimage of a vision: almost absent from a distance, branching into further levels up close. The hood and folds interrupt the drawing, asking the eye to rebuild it each time, like remembering an image that was vivid in an altered state and can only be recovered in fragments after returning.

Care

Machine wash cold with similar colours. Do not bleach or dry-clean. Line dry. If ironing is needed, use a maximum sole-plate temperature of 110 °C without steam.

Minor differences in colour and exact print placement may occur between the screen mockup and the finished product.
